Mute and deaf becomes school topper in UP board exam

Agra: Against all the odds, 17-year-old Mayank Sharma emerge as a winner.

Mayank, a deaf and mute student of class XII  stunned everyone by securing a IV rank in his school after UP intermediate board exam results were declared on Sunday.

A student of Sri Ram Krishna Inter College scored 80.2 % in class XII from science stream.

As per News18 reports,  Mayank was born without hearing and speaking capabilities.

It was through lips movement Mayank started learning different things be the tables or idioms or English poems.

“Mayank was a very bright student. Initially we had problems to teach him but later with gradual understanding of sign language we taught him,” said Mayank’s school principal.

“The school is proud on his achievement,” he added.

Mayank wish to work as civil servant after completing his education.
