President All India Congress Committee Minority Department Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Sayeed urged Muslims to assert their rights by participating in political activities. He claimed Congress to be the only secular party who works for the welfare and development of minorities. He was addressing as chief guest at State Minority Convention at Gandhi Bhawan.
Pradesh Congress president minority department Mr. Mohammed Sirajuddin addressed the convention. Former president Pradesh Congress committee and MLC Mr. D Srinivas, former state minister Mr. Mohammed Fareeduddin, Congress MLA Mr. Shahjehan Badsha, Mr. Mastan Vali Congress MP Mr. Anjan Kumar Yadav besides other leaders Mr. Syed Yousuf Hashmi, Mr. Mir Hadi Ali, Mr. Sajid Pasha, Mr. Abdul Ghani and others were also present.
Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Sayeed said that Congress is a secular party which is fighting against communal forces. Congress led UPA government has worked for welfare and development of minorities.
