Hyderabad, October 01: Muslim community leaders of the city have sought implementation of various welfare schemes announced by the Government for their welfare.
In a memorandum to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, All Minority Employees Welfare Association general secretary Shaik Khadar Baba and All Mosque Federation president F.R.K. Khan noted that the post of Urdu lecturer, which fell vacant on the retirement of a former Professor three years ago, has not been filled so far. This is the second largest number of students studying in the above courses after Osmania University, Hyderabad.
A temporary lecturer is appointed on payment of hourly basis to teach Arabic and Urdu to the students. They sought appointment of a permanent lecturer in Urdu Department or at least a Teaching Assistant till the permanent post was filled.
They also demanded formation of the District PM s 15 Point Programme committee in the district with local minority educated Muslims.
