Muslims should not raise the slogan “Bharat Mata ki Jai” – Prof. Akhtarul Wasey

Hyderabad: Noted Islamic Scholar of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, Prof. Akhtarul Wasey told that the discussions on slogan “Bharat Mata ki Jai” are unnecessary. It is not essential to force anyone to raise the slogan. The people of India should form the habit of discriminating “India” and “Hinduism”. He further told that if we concentrate on the words, there is no difference between “Bharat Mata” and “Mother land”. He also told that Ameer Khusro, Dr. Iqbal and Altaf Husain Hali have praise India in their writings. They said that a handful of dust of India is better than paradise. Quoting Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), Prof. Akhtarul Wasey told that in his teaching there is a principle of mother land. Our country is not only “Mother India” but it is also “Father India” since when Adam was removed from Paradise, he had stepped on to this land.
