Justice B. Prakash Rao, former in charge Chief Justice of A.P. while addressing the Foundation Day of Maulana Azad National Urdu University yesterday told that in order to march ahead in economic and Educational fields, Muslims need reservation and scholarship.
A function was held yesterday at Urdu University to mark the Foundation Day, Prof. Mohammed Miyan, VC of Urdu University presided over the function. He told that Justice Prakash Rao is the only judge who supported 4% reservation for Muslims.
Prof. Noor Mohammed Nabi Maaldar, VC of Sholapur University delivered Foundation Day lecture. Quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, he said that “Dream is not that we see while in sleep but it is which that will not allow us to sleep.”
In his presidential address, Prof. Mohammed Miyan told that the race is always between the two equals. As long as the Muslims do not come up to the standards of others, they need reservation. He informed that Urdu University is going to start UG courses in Sciences and Social Sciences from next academic year. He impressed up on the need to ensure Urdu medium education in schools and colleges.
Dr. Khwaja Mohammed Shahid, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Urdu University welcomed the guests and introduced to them. Prof. S.M. Rahmatullah, Registrar proposed vote of thanks.
