Ajmal opposes Assam’s 2-child policy

NEW DELHI: Days after Assam Cabinet announces two child policy for government jobs, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal on Saturday said that Muslims will not pay heed to laws and will continue to produce children.

Reacting to the BJP-led Assam government, the Lok Sabha member, as reported by India Today, said:

“Muslims will continue to produce children, they will not listen to anyone. Now, the government has brought this law to stop Muslims from having jobs. According to the Sachar committee, below 2 per cent Muslims get government jobs. Literate people are now increasing among the Muslim community and they are working across the world,” said Ajmal, a perfume baron was quoted as saying by ANI.

Ajmal has alleged that the limited two-child policy has been designed to stop Muslim from holding government jobs.

“Whatever laws you make, they will have no impact on the Muslims. Tampering with nature is not good. Muslims will do whatever they want to bear children. Don’t shout later that we have more children. Don’t fight with nature.”

The Government of Assam on October 21 had decided that  individuals having more than two kids  will not be eligible for the government jobs from January 1, 2021.
