Muslims constantly neglected in selection of cricket players

Hyderabad, November 12: Reacting strongly against the religious prejudice and nepotism in selection of cricket players, secretary City College Old Boys Cricket Club, Novel Cricket Club and others in a joint statement said that selection of players should be done keeping in view the game and best performance of the players, but it seems that Hyderabad Cricket Association has a difference criteria for selection of players. As a result the Muslim players who are relentlessly giving best performance are ignored.

For the past two years no Muslim player has been selected in the under 14 and under 16 teams representing Hyderabad or if selected they are taken for granted. They told that though a Muslim player has been selected for under 14 team last year but he was not given a chance to show his best performance even in a single match out of a total of 5 matches.

Mohammad Farooq said that it is not that that Muslim players cannot perform better but if evaluated unbiased they can prove better than the selected players.
