Muslims should come forward to improve their educational and economic status – Zahid Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily appealed to the Muslims to celebrate their marriages in a very simple manner and to economize their expenses so that Muslim community could be saved from economic deterioration. He was delivering presidential speech at the 56th Du-ba-Du (face-to-face) matrimonial program organized by Minorities Development Forum yesterday at Towlichowki. He said that during the present time, nearly Rs. 5-15 lakh amounts are spent in a marriage. If extravagant expenses are avoided, a college or a hospital could be constructed within a year. Many Muslims are celebrating their marriages with pomp and pride which have become the symbol of extravaganza. The middleclass Muslims are very much worried with this situation. He lamented that many marriages are being performed by taking loans on interest, although, interest is forbidden in Islam. He announced that he would attend only those marriages which are free from extravaganza and unnecessary rituals.

 

With reference to the present situation of the country, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that the time has come now for the Muslims to come forward to improve their educational and economic status. Only those communities will be respected which are developed educationally and sound economically. It is the duty of the parents to get higher education for their sons and daughters. He expressed the delight that the aspiration for getting higher education is on the increase among the Muslim girls. Muslim boys should also struggle to excel in the field of education by avoiding unnecessary activities. He also advised the parents of the boys to select the girls for their sons taking into consideration good characters of the girls. A girl with good conduct ensures prosperity and tranquility for the entire family. He mentioned that Du-ba-Du (face-to-face) matrimonial program is getting popularity not only in the city of Hyderabad but also in various districts. Requests are being made from other state for conducting such programs. He applauded the efforts of Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin, proprietor of Imperil Garden, Towlichowki. He also praised the talents of Mohammed Muzaffaruddin, a student of Central Public School, Khilwath. He gave him cash award. Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin and Dr. Ayub Haideri also gave him cash award.

 

Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin told that in the present time, it is not easy to resolve various issues. He applauded the efforts of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan. He also told that matrimonial alliances have become commercial these days. The parents are demanding dowry which is shameful.

 

Mr. Abid Siddiqui, President of MDF told that the children are the best blessing for the parents. In the same manner, it is the duty of the parents to provide good matrimonial life for the children.

 

Mohammed Muzaffaruddin, a student of Central Public School, Khilwath made a very impressive speech against dowry which was appreciated by all. His teacher, Ms. Hameeda Begum and Principal of the school, Mr. Zafarullah Faheem were also present on this occasion.
