Hyderabad, October 15: Those who got L.Rajagopal released when he was arrested at the Shamsabad Airport are responsible for the destruction of Waqf Properties. The culprit who has usurped Waqf land at Manikonda is fectched with Biryani and Kabab.
These thoughts were expressed by Rafathullah Khan,senior advocate while addressing a seminar organized by Deccan Waqf Properties Society at Urdu Ghar, Moghalpura. He said that by implementing the Waqf Act of 1956, targeting Waqf Properties started. During this period, important responsibilities were assigned to corrupt officers so that Waqf Properties could easily be usurped.
He pointed out that more than others Muslims are responsible for destructing the Waqf Properties. He said that if enquries are made, there won’t be any district left out where we can’t construct a Haj House and Urdu Ghar. He advised that we should demand 100 year old record of Waqf properties under RTI Act.
The culprits of Waqf Properties should be arrested like Gali Janarthana Reddy and criminal cases should be filed against them. He said that if Telangana is formed, the percentage of Muslim population will increase. Mr. Hamid Mohammed Khan, President of MPJ said that Sri Krishna Committee indicated that the population of Muslims would increase. It was felt that there is a need to establish Waqf Commissioner’s office.
