Warangal district has always been in the fore front in Telangana movement but some Telangana leaders are making attempts to weaken Telangana movement in the district. People of Telangana are planning to vote in the next election only to those candidates who support Telangana movement. Leaders of Congress, TDP and other parties are demanding votes of the people by raising Jai Telangana slogans. Muslim leaders of the district are calmly waiting the situation. There are many Assembly constituencies in the district in which Muslim votes are deciding factors.
There is no Muslim leadership in the district in the past Muslim leaders had entered into politics and got various important positions. In Warangal east and Warangal west have a sizeable population of Muslims. In addition to these 2 Assembly constituencies, Jangaon and Mahboobabad have also considerable Muslim population. The spite sizeable population of the Muslims no Muslim leader from district any important decision. Muslims have been associated to Congress party for a long time. Today the Muslims of district are thinking that any leader who works for them would be their favourable candidate. Leaders of Congress party should make an attempt to bring the Muslims closer to their party. Muslims are supporting the cause of Telangana but there is no strong Muslim leadership in the district. All the Muslim leaders have to think seriously about this issue.
