Hyderabad: Telangana Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof. Kodandaram said Muslim reservations proportionate to their population is the need of the hour for educational and economic development of Muslims. He told that serious measures by the Telangana government are necessary for 12 pc reservations.
Addressing a press conference held here at TJAC office, Prof. Kodandaram said it is claimed that Muslims are provided equal opportunities with other sections of population but practically no change is witnessed in the condition of Muslim minorities in Telangana.
Declaring the formation of Commission of Enquiry for Muslim reservations, as a brave move, Prof. Kodandaram said government of Telangana can provide 12 pc reservations, which was promised by Chief Minister in a public meeting before elections, on the basis of the recommendations of Sudhir Committee report. Kodandaram said Telangana Joint Action Committee is in support of Muslims reservations and if need arises will adopt protest strategy for achieving this.
He informed that a colloquium will be organised on January 16, which will be addressed by Mr. Yogendar Yadav, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Adil Mohammed, Waman Vedika, Mohammed Khaja Moinuddin and others.
