Muslim reservation hearing postponed

Hearing on Muslim reservation issue which was scheduled on April 18 in Supreme Court has been postponed. Registrar of Supreme Court informed the parties about this and the notice was posted on Supreme Court’s website. Muslim reservation case is pending with 5-member bench and the hearing was scheduled on April 18.

Besides Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments, Congress party and Jamiat Ulama had geared up for the case. Noted lawyers were to be produced during hearing. New date of hearing will be announced by Supreme Court.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed has also postponed his proposed visit to Delhi. He said Telangana government is sincere in providing Muslim reservations and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed Additional Advocate General Ram Chander Rao to hire the services of noted advocate of Supreme Court to follow up the case.

Mahmood Ali reiterated that TRS abides by its promise of providing 12 pc reservations to Muslims and further action will be taken in this connection after recommendations of Sudhir Commission and BC Commission.
