Jamiat-ul-Ulema Hind president Moualna Arshad Madani said that the Muslim political parties were quite harmful for the community.
Speaking to media persons during his visit to the city on Thursday, Moualna Arshad Madani said that instead of promoting Muslim parties, the community should join or support secular national parties. He said growth of Muslim parties would only unite and strengthen communal forces in the country. Citing the example of Assam, he said that the rise of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) of Moulana Badruddin Ajmal has strengthened BJP and other forces in the State. Therefore, he said that the Muslim community should discourage the idea of having its own political party.
The JUH President also said that there was no harm in Muslims saying “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. However, he said he does not dispute some ‘Fatwas’ issued against this.
Moulana Arshad Madani stressed the need for Muslim reservation in the country. He also informed that YSRCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy has offered help to the Jamiat in contesting the 4% Muslim reservation case in the Supreme Court. (INN)
