A meeting of the Muslim dignitaries was held at Anjuman-e-Islamia at Nizamabad under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohammed Sirajuddin, President of Anjuman-e-Islamia. Nizamabad is the second largest city of Telangana where there is adequate concentration of Muslim population. The Muslims of Nizamabad have been feeling the need of a Muslim Maternity Hospital in order to stop the practices of family planning by the Doctors and misbehavior of the medical staff in Govt. hospitals. The proposed hospital would provide medical facilities with Parda for Muslim women.
Anjuman-e-Islamia has 6 acres of land and the premises of former Fakhr-e-Millath High School which has been evacuated for this purpose.
Mr. Syed Najeeb Ali, Advocate highlighted the activities of Anjuman-e-Islamia covering the past 77 years. It has been decided to offer welfare services under the stewardship of Dr. Mohammed Sirajuddin. It has also been decided to form a separate committee for the establishment of Maternity hospital. Mr. Almas Khan, President of United Forum told that it is our cumulative responsibility to protect our wakf lands. Mr. M.A. Quddoos, Vice President of Anjuman-e-Islamia appealed the people to extend their cooperation for the proposed hospital. Mr. Rafath Mohammed Khan expressed the need for the maternity hospital and appealed to the younger generation to come forward. Mr. Ahmed Abdul Azeem stressed the need for providing other facilities in the hospital. Mr. Ahmed Abdul Aleem, Secretary of Anjuman-e-Islamia welcomed the gathering and highlighted the aims and objectives of the establishment of hospital. In the meeting a sum of Rs. 9 lakh were collected for taking initiative for the hospital. Mr. Syed Osman Ali proposed vote of thanks.
