Commenting upon the ‘clean chit’ issued to the accused of Pehlu Khan’s lynching, Journalist Saba Naqvi lamented that the dying declaration of Pehlu khan ignored, despite the fact that a dying declaration has great sanctity in criminal law as it is believed that a dying person will not lie. She rued that if any Muslim is killed justice is next to impossible. She asked if the accused have not killed Pehlu Khan, who had killed him, did an alien from Mars came and killed him.

Claiming that the prejudice against Muslims is common, she said, Pehlu khan is an extreme example, but many meat traders are dying slow death, their economy is being assaulted. Mutton shops, chicken shops owners are harassed and sent to lock ups. In a blatant prejudice against Muslims and just to harass Muslims they are doing collateral damage against Dalits as well, she maintained.

Asserting that it is not a civic issue, she asked, if the government is concerned over civic issue, what about Gorakhpur which is strewn with garbage. It has nothing to do with Muslims or slaughter houses.

Exposing the double-standards of the so called gaurakhshaks, she cited that in Chhattisgarh, 200 cows starved to death at ‘gaushala’ run by BJP leader.
