Muslim girls should be equipped with education – Zahid Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily inaugurated Garments Bank in Saadullah Nagar, Maula Ali day before yesterday. Mr. Iftekhar Husain, Secretary, Faiz-e-Aam Trust and Dr. Makhdoom Mohiuddin were present on this occasion. Dr. Shaukat Ali Mirza conducted the meeting.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that Siasat Urdu Daily in collaboration with Faiz-e-Aam Trust has started Garments Bank in order to provide good clothes to the needy. This bank also has bride’s garments which will be given to poor girls. He further told that due to dowry system, Muslim community has become economically backward. Thousands of girls are waiting for their marriages. He told that Siasat Urdu Daily has launched a campaign against dowry. He sought the cooperation of Muslim community. He told that the education is the best weapon for eradicating evils. He mentioned that during the recent days, the trend for getting education has increased among the girls. He pointed out that 80% of the girls have sought admissions in medical courses. If the girl is educated, she can play a role in elevating the economic standard of the family. He stressed the need to get vocational education along with traditional education. He told that Mehendi Designing has become the essential need for marriages these days. The services of Mehendi are being employed by spending thousands of rupees. If the girls become expert in Mehendi designing and tailoring, they can raise the income of the family. The progress of nations depends on promoting women in every field.

It may be mentioned that Helping Hand is running a tailoring center in Maula Ali. Certificates were distributed in the function to the girls who completed tailoring training. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Mr. Iftekhar Husain, Dr. Makhdoom Mohiuddin, Mr. Syed Haider Ali and Mr. Syed Ali Haider Amer distributed the certificates. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan also distributed saris to five selected ladies.
