A delegation of Muslim Federation Nellore accompanied by president Deccan Waqf Properties Protection Society Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Alhajari called on Mr. Zahed Ali Khan and requested to prevent sale of waqf property adjoining Jama Masjid Nellore.
The delegation alleged that Soghra Begum daughter of masjid mutavallia Zubaida Begum who is an elderly women, is trying to sell the waqf land, by taking permission from Waqf Board to give the property on lease; but following strong protest by musallis of the masjid and local people, the waqf board cancelled the permission. However as a result of political pressure the waqf board in a meeting held in the current month has allegedly passed a resolution to grant permission to the mutavallia to lease out the land.
The delegation alleged that 13.33 acre land under the masjid worth nearly 30 crore has been planned to sell out by doing plotting. Earlier also nearly 3.69 acre land was sold after plotting in the name of Quddoos nagar. Mr. Zahed Ali Khan after studying all the documents called Waqf Board Chairman Mr. Ghulam Afzal Biabani Khusro Pasha and made him aware of the local people’s complaint.
