Muslim Education Conference on Sunday

In order to promote educational awareness among the Muslims, Muslim Education Society AP unit is holding a conference at 10: 00 am on Sunday 21st April at Indira Priya Darshini Auditorium, Public Garden. It will be presided over by Mr. Asif Pasha, former Minister and president of the society.

Talking to newsmen today, Mr. Asif Pasha told that various issues concerning the education of the Muslims would be discussed in the conference.

Mr. Mani Shankar Iyar, MP Mr. Damodhar Raja Narasimha, Dy. CM, Mr. Zikrur Rahman, former Indian Ambassador to Palestine and Director of Centre for West Asian Studies, Dr. Faizan Mustafa, Vice Chancellor of NALSAR Law University, Advocate Supreme Court, Mr. S.M. Lal Jan Basha, former MP will address the conference. Mr. Asif Pasha will deliver welcome address.

Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Director Urdu Academy, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Waheed, Commissioner of Minorities Welfare Dept. Prof. Amena Kishore and Prof. Ahmedullah Khan will speak on various topics relating to Minorities education.

Highlighting the aims and objectives of the conference, Mr. Asif pasha said that various steps are being taken by the Governments for the developments of Muslim Education but due to lack of their proper implementation, educational backwardness among the Muslims is on the increase.

It is, therefore, necessary to prepare a comprehensive plan of action and to present it to the Govt.

Issues like enhancement of income limit for Minorities from Rs. One Lakh to Rs. 2 Lakh and to extend the validity of income certificate from One Year to Five Year etc. will be discussed in the conference.

Mr. Asif Pasha told that All India Muslim Education Society had organized a conference in 1976 under the Chairmanship of Mr. J. Vengal Rao, the then CM of AP at King Kothi, Hyderabad. Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, former President of India had inaugurated this conference.

Mr. Asif Pasha told that the yeomen services rendered by former secretary of Muslim Education Society, Dr. M.A. Ahmed will be remembered and homage would be paid to him.

Present in the Press Conference were Mr. S.M. Farooq General Secretary, Muslim Education Society, Dr. Rahimuddin Kamal, Mr. Ahmed Basheeruddin Farooqui, Mr. Nayeemullah Shareef, Mr. Khaleelur Rahman and others.

They appealed to the teachers, students and others to attend this conference.
