Muslim delegation thanks Kiran for gesture

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has extended warm greetings to all Muslim brethren on the occasion of “Ramzan”. He hoped that the festival would strengthen the bonds of love, compassion and mutual understanding among people.

A Muslim delegation, led by Justice Ismail, retired chairman of Human Rights Commission, M.A. Rashid, president, Government Muslim Employees’ Association, Abid Rasool Khan, general secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee and other Muslim leaders called on the Chief Minister here this morning at Camp Office and thanked him for announcing several measures for the welfare of minorities, including extending “Vaddi Leni Runaalu” (interest-free loans) to lakhs of minority women as interest is not allowed in Islam; for appointing one educational counselor for every 100 households and decided to fill the nominated posts of all minority organisations.

Dr P. Permanas, general secretary, All Minority Employees’ Association, Ayub Khan, Khader and other minority leaders were also in the delegation.
