Members of the Muslim community along with police on Monday urged youth to desist from any activity, such as speeding on motorcycles, that could cause them harm on the night of Shab-e-Baraat. The Shab-e-Baraat falls on Tuesday. Considered one of the most important days in Islam, it is an occasion for people to seek forgiveness. It is also the time when prophet Mohammed reached Mecca.
“We request the devotees visiting the Kabrasthan and Dargah that it is the special night of seeking forgiveness and repenting to Almighty Allah, remembering our past sins and sincerely vowing that one will never commit sins in the future. We request all the devotees not to create any nuisance and avoid motorcycles, to maintain law and order said Sohail Khandwani, trustee of the Mahim Dargah.
