Qamarul Islam, the beloved MLA of historical city Gulbarga, has set a record by winning the assembly elections for the 6th time. Hence the senior Congress leader Qamarul Islam should be made deputy speaker of the Karnataka state. This was demanded by most of the Muslim organizations and key social workers.
Karnataka Muslim United Front the association of 28 key organizations of the state also said that this time any senior Muslim leader should be made deputy chief minister. In the present assembly Qamarul Islam is the senior most leader. The organizations claim that Muslims unitedly voted for Congress in the current assembly elections and brought Congress to power hence party high command and senior Congress leaders should not ignore Muslim demand.
