Islamabad, August 25: Former Pakistani President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf is likely to reach Dubai from London within next few days to consult his close aides on his political ambitions.
According to sources, the former President has summoned his close political aides to Dubai. Musharraf held a meeting in London with a group of his supporters and discussed his future political ambitions as his two years ban on political activities will expire in November, The News today said.
The sources said Humayun Akhtar Khan, secretary general of a break away faction of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid), also held a meeting with Pervez Musharraf in London. Mr Khan was instrumental in raising the like minded group out of the PML(Q), headed by Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain. However, the sources close to Mr Khan denied any meeting with Pervez Musharraf, saying Humayun was in London on a private visit with his family.
But, the sources in the like minded group confirmed that a meeting took place in which Tariq Aziz, a close confidant of Gen(retd) Musharraf, was also present. The sources said a group of apolitical friends of the former President advised him to stay away from politics for the time being, saying at present there was no place in politics for him in Pakistan.
