The PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday rejected the writ petition (PIL), seeking a CBI probe into a death of a 11-year- old boy allegedly at the hands of Army personnel at Army Garrison campus at Mehdipatnam in the city.
The boy, in his dying declaration, had clearly stated that two army personnel were directly involved in setting him ablaze.
Gulam Rabbani, a city based advocate filed a petition in the Hyderabad High Court with a plea to direct the Telangana government to order a CBI probe into the death of 11-year-old Shaik Mustafauddin.
“Unless the investigation is entrusted to the Central Bureau of Investigation, there will not be any fair and impartial probe”, advocate added. As reported earlier, a Special Investigation Team was formed to probe the case. The SIT is still investigating the murder case. No arrests have been made so far.
But the bench comprising Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosle and Justice S V Bhatt rejected the writ petition saying there is no need of CBI probe into the case.
The bench expressed satisfaction with the investigation of the SIT. The bench directed the petitioner and the parents of the deceased to approach the SIT with relevant information.
