Muzaffarpur: The conspiracy plan to murder former mayor of Muzaffarpur Samir Kumar was hatched inside a city jail reports claim.
The investigation team is close to nab the assailants said Police sources. During the probe, two murder suspects have been identified so far, one of which is a wealthy businessman said the police. The murder weapon AK -47 has not been recovered yet said the Police.
According to the sources, Kumar was murdered because of growing clamour in the real estate business, ABP reports.
The two suspects who carried out the shooting have been identified to be working for Shambhu-Mantu gang whereas Shambhu is presently lodged in Muzaffarpur jail.
Investigating officers also said that Kumar had not taken his licensed pistol at the time of attack which probably means that an insider tipped off the assailants while the street light of the crime scene was also found damaged.
