Murder bid foiled, 3 gangsters nabbed

Hyderabad, June 27: Three persons, who hatched a plan to eliminate their rival history-sheeter gang, were nabbed on Friday, from whom police seized country-made fire arms, five live rounds and three daggers. The nabbed were Mohd Abdul Zaheer alias Zaheer, an electrician and resident of Moghal Nagar, Mohd Ashfaq, a history-sheeter of Kalapathar PS and Mohd Issaq alias Bada Issaq, a pick-pocketer from Talabkatta. Police said that Zaheer maintains a pick-pocketing gang along with his associates and operates in Lakdikapul, Mehdipatnam, Nampally and nearby areas.

Zaheer was in loggerheads with Mohd Khaiser and Jirra Shakeel, both history-sheeters of Habeebnagar and Tappachabutra limits respectively.

“The two had earlier warned Zaheer not to operate in their areas. The gangs have been attacking each other for the past few years and have even eliminated some of their gang members,” DCP Task Force V B Kamalasan Reddy said. Zaheer, while in prison under a criminal case, came in contact with history-sheeter of Kalapather Police Station, Ashfaq, and his close friends Pasha and Issaq.

Zaheer sought the help of Ashfaq and his associates to eliminate Khaiser and Jirra Shakeel.

They in turn took the help of Mohammad, a resident of Golconda.

Mohammad gave Rs 16,000 and Zaheer procured two fire arms and five rounds through his contacts in Uttar Pradesh. They also purchased daggers from Shamhsabad. On a tip off, Task Force sleuths nabbed the accused persons Zaheer, Mohd Ashfaq and Mohd Issaq at Moinbagh and seized the fire arms and daggers. Two others-Pasha and Mohammed are absconding.
