Rajendranagar municipality refuses to give permission of laying of slab at an ancient and historical Qutub Shahi Masjid at Rajendranagar. The municipality does not recognize it as a Masjid but calls it, a structure. Local Muslims are compelled to offer prayer by erecting a plastic shed.
Masjid Qutub Shahi Attapur was demolished upto 90 percent after police action but the miscreants could not demolish the minbar. The Masjid is located at Kanta Reddy Nagar near pillar no 125. There used to be a vast Waqf land under the Masjid but with the support of Muslim opportunists, non Muslims have constructed skyscrapers on the land.
Ironically the corrupt and communal officials of Rajendranagar municipality gave permission for building apartments on the Masjid land, but refused to give permission for laying slab on the Masjid. It even uses police force to deprive Muslims from laying slab on the Masjid.
When the readers came to know about the Masjid, the ardent young Muslims of Khajanagar rehabilitated the Masjid on March 25, 2011 by offering Friday prayers and since then 5 times prayers are performed at the mosque under plastic shed.
