Municipal employees meet commissioner

Ludhiana, July 25: Members of the Municipal Karamchari Dal today held a meeting with the MC Commissioner, GS Ghuman regarding demands of the employees.

The members said that although the Chief Minister had abolished the Mohalla Sanitation Committees about a year ago, but the orders have not been implemented as yet.

The members asked the commissioner to implement the DC rates for the employees working in Mohalla Sanitation Committees. At the moment they are getting salary of Rs 2,880 per month.

Nearly 1,500 employees have not even filled pension forms due to illiteracy and the members said they should be provided forms again so that they could avail of the pension benefits. About 60 cases of jobs on compassionate ground were also lying pending.

Apart from this many demands of JEs and SDOs were also discussed. The members gave a memorandum of demands to the MC Commissioner and urged him to implement the demands soon.
