Hyderabad, August 07: Justice Ramana of High Court admonished Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation authorities for demolishing illegal constructions. The Judge asked them what they were doing when these constructions were in progress. The Municipal authorities complained that they don’t have sufficient staff. Addressing the Municipal authorities, the Judge said that when they collect taxes, it is their duty to stop such illegal constructions.
Justice Ramana further said that the Municipal authorities should feel ashamed of their searching for pretexts. He observed that it is not the question of one or two houses, many colonies have been constructed illegally.
He said that very soon guidelines would be framed for checking illegal constructions in cellars and open spaces.
Justice N. V. Ramana expressed his anger on the petition submitted by Model House Space Owners’ Assocation. He clearly said that it is not the responsibility of the courts to check such illegal constructions. Executive should do its job properly.
