Hyderabad, November 04: The General Body meeting of the Municipal Corporators was held yesterday at GHMC office tank Bund under the stewardship of its Mayor Ms. Bandaru Kartika Reddy.
No decision was taken in the meeting to increase the property tax. Sensing the wrath of TDP corporation kept this issue in abeyance. Municipal Commissioner responded to the questions raised by corporators. He said that the most important thing is the collection of taxes.
He appealed to the corporators to extend their support in collecting Municipal Tax areas. He said that Govt. receives Rs. 600 crore as vehicles tax. The corporation is demanding the Govt. to allocate 10% of it to GHMC. He said that the corporation has to function within the income limits.
