Ranchi, April 26: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today slammed the opposition for allegedly disrupting social harmony by their “double-edged statements” on the anti-encroachment drive.
“On one hand a Central minister says he has spoken to the Union government that no one will be evicted from the land of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) while on the other hand the HEC management approaches the high court saying the state is not giving adequate security forces for eviction,” Munda told a news conference here.
“This is double-edged talk,” he said, adding that “it will affect social harmony.”
Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay had yesterday alleged that the Munda government’s anti-encroachment drive was “anti-poor” and that the demolition drive had allegedly delayed Team India Captain M S Dhoni’s homecoming.
“The government is committed to providing basic amenities to the poor,” Munda said.
