Mumbai: Six college students were killed when the car they were travelling in rammed into another vehicle and turned turtle on the Mumbai-Pune expressway early Tuesday morning.
According to the police, the six students in their 20s were heading to Pune from Mumbai when their Maruti Suzuki Ciaz rammed into another vehicle near Pavana police chowky at Kamshet. The Ciaz was flipped on its top, killing four of them instantly. Two others died at the Lokmanya hospital at Nigdi while undergoing treatment, hospital sources said.
Four of the deceased were identified as Aditya Bhandarkar, Yash Shirali, Akshay Bhilare, Abhishek Roy.
Police said the mishap occurred after the driver lost control of his speeding vehicle.
According to officials at the Kamshet police station, all of them were students at various colleges in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
