Mumbai, May 9 (ANI): Mumbai Police seized hookahs and tobacco and detained 44 youth during a bar raid. The bar Black Diamond was being run behind a motorcycle showroom Biketech at a dockyard. “I came to this place with my staff. We reached the location and we first looked around near the Black Diamond and I asked my staff to block all exits and we entered inside.
I found atleast 44 persons inside, we have taken them into custody and I have informed my senior. We will take them back with us and start an investigation ,” said senior inspector, Sunil Sawant. The police raided the bar and apprehend these youths, following a tip off that such a bar was covertly being run behind the motorcycle showroom. Those present inside the bar tried to flee but were unsuccessful due to cordoning off of the area by the police. Police seized various types of hookahs and also tobacco of different brands and flavour. A case has been registered against the owners of the hookah parlour and motorcycle showroom owner who were absconding. Normally, police in Mumbai concentrate on raiding bars with dancers as these are usually related to cases of human trafficking. (ANI)
