Ahmedabad, February 06: As many as six coaches of a Mumbai-bound train derailed between Surat and Udhna stations today, railway officials said.
There was no report of any casualty, but derailment of the ”Flying Rani” Express affected traffic on the busy Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, they said, the incident took place soon after the Surat-Mumbai train left Surat station.
The train was cancelled and track repair work was on, they said, adding one side traffic resumed after nearly six hours. Most of the trains to and from Mumbai were running late by 30-40 minutes.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
