Mumbai: Nearly twelve people were burned to death after a fire broke out in the early wee hours today at a namkeen shop Bhani Farsan at Khairani road.
Senior Sub-inspector A Dharmadhikari, Sakinaka Police station has said the fire broke out at around 4.30 am which has so far killed 12 people sleeping inside the namkeen shop.
He said at least 25 fire tenders reached the accident site to contain the fire. The situation is now under control he added.
Police are currently investigating the matter, reported Zee News.
In another incident, a major fire broke out in a chemical unit in Turbhe located in TTC area around 5 pm. Six Fire tenders were called in to contain the fire.
