Chinese police today arrested a 38-year-old man who had allegedly stabbed five people to death and injured three others in central Henan Province.
The suspect, Ding Jinhua, was arrested from Yuzhou City, police said, adding that he was being interrogated.
Ding, who runs a furniture shop in Henan, went on a stabbing spree yesterday after a minor local dispute,
state-run news agency Xinhua said.
He stabbed three people to death in Dazhuzhuang Village and later drove back to the furniture market where he killed a businesswoman.
After that, Ding stabbed a taxi driver to death outside the market before fleeing in the vehicle. The police had
offered a reward of USD 8,200 for clues leading to his capture.
