Ranchi:Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today said a multi-modal hub would be set up in Sahibganj, the only district of Jharkhand where the Ganga flows.
Sahibgunj will be going to get a bridge over the Ganga and waterways on it to make it a multi-modal hub, Gadkari, the Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister, said.
“The Rs 534-crore multi-modal hub in Sahibganj will become the growth engine for Jharkhand,” the minister told a press conference here.
Stating that Sahibganj would become a Smart City, he said work on a bridge over the Ganga in Sahibganj would start by March this year.
The ministry will set up three multi-modal hubs in the country including one in Sahibganj and once completed, cargo could directly go to Bangaldesh from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh, Gadkari had said earlier.
