Lofty claim were made by the government and public representatives regarding construction of multi-level parking at Moti Gali, Khilwat. Ex-chief minister Mr. N Kiran Kumar Reddy had laid the foundation stone of multi-level parking complex on June 5, 2011 but Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has reportedly shelved the plans for the reasons unknown.
GHMC has also removed the foundation stone tablet. Now the tablet lies in a store room. Local residents, shop owners and businessmen are angry over spiking the project as they had hoped that the multi-level parking complex would give them respite from the parking problems. The five-storey complex was supposed to have a capacity of 400 four wheelers and 200 two wheelers.
Had the political leaders, Instead of touting, taken practical and concrete measures neither Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance and Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation nor the government would dare to shelve the wonderful project.
