Mulayam should not oppose Lokpal Bill: RLD chief

Lucknow, April 18: RLD chief Ajit Singh today said SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav should not oppose the Lokpal Bill if he was serious to fight the “corrupt” Mayawati government.

Accusing Yadav of not wanting the tough anti-corruption law, Singh said the SP chief should support the bill and if he had any objection over it, he should put across his views in Parliament when proposed legislation is debated.

Singh said there should be a provision in the bill to prosecute ministers, MPs and MLAs in corruption cases without seeking sanction for prosecution.

To a question, he said RLD would support anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare if he wanted to contest elections but added that he would advise him not to dabble in electoral politics.
