President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday congratulated Brigadier (Retd.) David Arthur Granger on his assumption of office as the Executive President of the Cooperative Republic of
Guyana.
“It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you on your assumption of office as the Executive President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. I take this opportunity to wish you all success in your
endeavours,” President Mukherjee said in his message.
“Traditionally, India and Guyana enjoy warm and friendly relations. I am confident that the friendly ties between our two countries will further strengthen in the years to come,” he added.
Brigadier (Retd.) Granger took oath as the eighth head of state of Guyana on Saturday. He replaced Donald Ramotar as President of Guyana. (ANI)
