Hyderabad, August 16: Nanogenerian Moghul descendent Begum Sunanda Laila Umahani, great granddaughter of late Moghul Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to chalk out a programme to rehabilitate the homeless progeny of freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifice during the first war of Indpendence in 1857.
In her Independence Day message released here, she said it was imperative to take care of welfare of the progeny of those who fought against the Britishers in 1857.
In a statement released by Moghul’s Family Society, headed by Mr Y Ziauddin Tucy, great grandson of the late Moghul Emperor, Ms Umahani expressed confidence that people of the country would keep up the spirit to make progress in all walks of life and defend the motherland by joining hands and fighting against terrorism and corruption.
