Muezzin passed away while waiting for Fajr in Jeddah

It is said that we will die the way we lived in this world

JEDDAH: A muezzin met his death while reciting Quran and waiting to call the Fajr Adhan at a Jeddah.

60-year-old Abdul Haq al Halabi is a muezzin of Masjid Al-Sulaimani was sitting reciting the Qur’an. He passed away with just minutes left before the time of Fajr Adhan, Saudi newspapaer Sabq reported on Thursday, July 20.

Abdul Haq al Halabi was a Syrian,who had migrated to Saudi Arabia and had been living in the kingdom for the past 40 years.

People who used to pray at Masjid Al-Sulaimani said that the late Muezzin was often seen reciting the Qur’an.

“We have always the Muezzin Abdul Haq al Halabi reciting Quran.”

It was narrated that Mu’aawiyah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“The muezzins will have the longest necks of the people on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Muslim, 387.
