Mubarizuddowla, Turrebaz Khan and Maulvi Alaudin pioneers of Freedom Struggle in Hyd. – Dr. Verma

Hyderabad: Dr. Anand Raj Verma, former Principal of AU college delivered a special lecture in the contact of “Freedom Struggle -70 years memory” at Syed Hamid Central Library of Maulana Azad National Urdu University yesterday. He told that the son of the third Asif Jahi Ruler, Nawab Akbar Ali Khan, Mr. Mubarizuddowla revolted against the British for the first time in Hyderabad. He was arrested. He revolted again in 1830.He was caught again. Mubarizuddowla was given the title “Rayees ul Muslimeen” by the freedom fighters of India. He sent letters to various rulers of India to persuade them to revolt against the British. He was arrested for the third time in 1839.

Mr. Turrebaz Khan and Maulvi Alaudin pioneers of Freedom Struggle in Hyderabad who organized armed struggle against the British. On 17th July 1857, violent speeches were made in Makkah Masjid and the crowd went to the residence of Maulvi Alaudin. The procession went to Residency and attack. They were unarmed. 52 freedom fighters were killed in the attack.

Turrebaz Khan and Maulvi Alaudin went underground. Later, Turrebaz Khan was arrested in Residency but he escaped from there. He was arrested again and was killed and his dead body was hung on the Koti cross road.

Dr. Verma advised the students to take a lesson from the freedom fighters and to inculcate the passion for serving the country. Dr. Mohammed Faryad, Convener welcomed the guest. The prize distribution function will be held today at 3 p.m. at CPDUMT auditorium of MANUU. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Registrar of MANUU will preside over the function.
