Ms. Sonia Gandhi assures Congress leaders of seriously considering Telangana issue

Secretary of AICC and MLC Mr. P. Sudhakara Reddy reached New Delhi and met Ms. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi. He presented a memorandum on the successful Telangana March and the excesses of police. He demanded for early formation of Telangana State. Congress MP’s had met at the residence of Dr. K. Keshava Rao, former MP the day before yesterday and had decided to send Mr. P. Sudhakara Reddy to New Delhi to report about the success of Telangana March.

They had also contacted Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad on that day. Mr. Azad presented the report of Telangana March to Ms. Sonia Gandhi before proceeding to foreign trip.

Ms. Sonia Gandhi told that she is aware of Telangana Movement. She also discussed the incidents of students’ suicides and the participation of Naxalites in the Movement. She mentioned about the opposition of Seema Andhra leaders. Mr. Sudhakara Reddy told Ms. Sonia Gandhi that during Telangana March, Congress MP’s were arrested by the police.

He impressed upon her the need to fulfill the promise made by the Congress on 9th December 2009.

After meeting Ms. Sonia Gandhi, talking to newsmen, Mr. Sudhakara Reddy told that Mr. Sonia Gandhi talked to him in a pleasant mood. She told that negotiations are in progress on Telangana issue. Congress High Command is talking to Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao also in this regard.

Mr. Sudhakara Reddy appealed to Ms. Sonia Gandhi to honour the sentiments of the people of Telangana.
