Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi offers two year diploma court in Urdu calligraphy and graphic design at 53 centers throughout India. It organized a 7 day Art and Calligraphy Exhibition at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in which Calligraphic exhibits of the teachers of these centers were exhibited. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Dept. of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Mr. Abdul Gaffar, Calligraphy instructor of Idara-e-Adabiath-e-Urdu, Hyderabad was awarded first prize in Calligraphy. Mr. Kapil Sibal ,Union Minister for Communications awarded the prize. Mr. Abdul Gaffar has been teaching Urdu and Arabic Calligraphy at the center since 1997.
