A Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirant committed suicide in Baramati blaming a CRPF officer and seven others for driving her to the decision of committing suicide said the Police.
In her three-page detailed note, the victim alleged that she had been repeatedly harassed and blackmailed by the officers and that the CRPF commando lured her into a physical relationship with him since past one and half years by giving her false promises. She accused the other men mentioned in the note for repeatedly harassing her for the past three years.
“They used to harass me at tuition classes and the academy with the baleful intention of coercing me into sexual relationship. They said they would tarnish my reputation… My loved ones are not aware of these events. I have been traumatised for the past several months… seek justice against those named in my letter” read her note.
According to a police officer of the Baramati Police Station said, “The girl apparently never confided in her parents about these events for fear of causing distress to them. We have lodged an FIR against those named in the suicide note and are probing the case to determine all angles.”
The Police have registered an FIR under sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after her relative filed a complaint against the accused.
