Muslim Peace Coalition USA which has unequivocally condemned the attacks on US embassy in Cairo, Egypt and US consulate in Benghazi, Libya that took place in response to the making of a trashy movie against Prophet Muhammad, has expressed concern on the spread of anti-US demonstrations in Africa and Asia.
According to the news reports the Coptic Christian producers of the movie attempted to incite a wide-spread conflict in the world and pretended to be Israeli Jews funded by American Jews. The movie producers attempted to exploit the well known fact about close cooperation between Evangelical extremists and Jewish extremists who are funding Islamophobia campaign in the US.
Dr. Shaik Ubaid, the New York co-chair of MPC-USA said, “The attack on Benghazi consulate seemed to be a well-planned attack by a trained militant group. FBI must investigate if the producers and promoters of the movie who deliberately used the Arabic version on the youtube caused the attack and deaths of US diplomats. While the killing of the diplomats which is a sin in Islam must be brought to justice their abettors in the anti-Muslim hate industry in the US must be held accountable as well.
Only such a comprehensive action along with education of both cultures and bridge-building will stop future violence. Muslim Americans are willing to play their part as the bridge builders. But we need Jewish and Christian clergy to share the burden.”
Muslim Peace Coalition launched a two pronged and multi-staged campaign to stem the violence globally in relation to this hate-film and it includes the following steps:
One wing of the campaign to educate the overseas Muslims about American government and religious establishment NOT being involved in hate-peddling. The Islamophobic extremists with support from some mainstream right-wing politicians are the ones behind the provocations.
The second wing of the campaign will work with inter-faith leadership by asking Jewish and Christian leaders to launch a sustained campaign to ostracize the Islam-haters in their communities who deliberately provoke the Muslim masses overseas hoping for a violent reaction. These Islam-hating extremists endanger American lives overseas and undermine communal harmony in the US.
The following specific steps are included in the campaign
1. Appeal to Muslim leadership and the media in the Muslim countries to react responsibly to demonization of Muslims by anti-Muslim extremists. To educate the Muslim world, the Muslim media overseas was already contacted with an appeal for responsible coverage.
2. Muslims in the US are requested to hold prayer services on Friday for the American diplomats killed and for communal understanding and peace.
3. An appeal to the Jewish and Christian leadership was already made to leaders to launch a sustained campaign to ostracize the Islam-haters in their communities who deliberately provoke the Muslim masses overseas hoping for a violent reaction. These Islam-hating extremists endanger American lives overseas and undermine communal harmony in the US. They should not be invited to speak in churches and synagogues.
