MP Ponnam warns DGP

Karimnagar, January 14: Karimnagar Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday warned that the police officers of the Telangana region would revolt if the Director General of Police failed to mend his style of functioning.

Speaking to media persons here, the Telangana Congress MP alleged that the DGP Dinesh Reddy was rendering great injustice to the police officers of the region in the matter of promotions and transfers. He also said that he would take up the issue with Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram to set right the things.

Alleging that the DGP was functioning with factionist mind, he alleged that Dinesh Reddy was trying to suffocate the Telangana protagonists and trampling upon human rights in the State. The MP demanded that the State government respond at least now and initiate appropriate action against the erring State police chief.
