MP loses temper, chides reporters

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajgopal, who was embroiled in the controversy relating to construction of flyover near Kanakadurga Temple on NH 9, lost temper and shouted at mediapersons during a press conference in the presence of Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathi, here today. After being asked several questions on the construction of the flyover, the Congress MP lost temper and chided reporters, saying they were not understanding what he was trying to say.

‘The reporters who are representing English media are understanding what I am saying in Telugu language, but, at the same time, some reporters of Telugu media are failing to understand what I am saying and wrongly presenting my statements,’ he said angrily. Mr Rajgopal who addressed a joint press conference with Minister K Parthasarathi, Vice-chairman of Vijayawada Urban Development Authority GSRKR Vijaya Kumar, clarified he was not against the construction of elevated corridor near Durga Temple on NH 9 but was worried about traffic congestion it would cause. He reiterated the construction of elevated corridor would be started only after completion of work on Inner Ring Road, connecting Vijayawada-Pune NH 9 and Chennai-Kolkotta NH 5. UNI
