MP to hold special session to debate development

Bhopal, April 18: A five-day special session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly will be convened to debate on development and public-related issues.

However, the dates for holding the session has not been finalised as the state government is eager to invite President Pratibha Patil to inaugurate it.

The decision in this regard was taken at the business advisory committee meeting of the House yesterday, which was attended by senior Congress MLAs Ajay Singh and Mahendra Singh Kalukheda among others, a member who attended the meeting said.

Though the state government wanted the special session of three days to entirely focus on agriculture, education and health issues, the Opposition Congress MLAs didn’t budge and pressed that it should be stretched for five days to discuss other issues as well, he said.
