Bhopal: The Government of Madhya Pradesh has appointed a one-member commission to probe the Petlawad explosion incident.
A state government release said in Bhopal on Tuesday that retired High Court judge Justice Aryendra Kumar Saxena will head the commission of inquiry and will have its headquarters at Indore. The Justice Saxena Commission has been asked to submit its report on the incident by November this year.
The commission will probe the circumstances leading to the explosion; who was responsible for it; whether the landlord or the tenant had the license to store or use explosives; find out if any complaint against illegal storage of explosives in the building had been filed in the past and what action was taken on it and suggest ways and means to prevent such incidents in future.
At least 89 people were killed and nearly 100 injured in the Petlawad town explosion in the state’s Jhabua District on Saturday. (ANI)
